New technical director for Missouri Thorns FC/ FC Missouri

Matt Caution, a St. Charles native, has returned to the area to join the Missouri Thorns FC/ FC Missouri, as Technical Director. As a youth, Matt was very successful with his soccer teams, including playing for his high school, Fort Zumwalt South. Upon graduation, Matt went on to play as a Division I player, for Missouri State University. At MSU, Matt still holds the rank of all-time MSU soccer career leader in points (125), goals (46), and assists (33). In the 1998 MLS College Draft, Matt was selected by the Dallas Burn.

  • 2003-2005 St. Louis Steamers (indoor) 61 (7)
  • 2005-2008 California Cougars (indoor) 58 (5)
  • 2008 Orlando Sharks (indoor) 6 (1)

Matt has been the Technical Director for Livermore Fusion, in California, for the past 8 years. There, he has been training and coaching teams. While in California, Matt has earned ACF Fiorentina Soccer Certification, from one of the top soccer clubs in Italy. For over 20 years, he has done personal training for soccer, including weight specific training. Matt has been teaching soccer camps and clinics for over 25 years. In addition, Matt holds a USSF National “B” license. He also holds a NSCAA National Premier Diploma.
