WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE ICELANDIC SOCCER ACADEMY PROGRAM

FORMER ICELANDIC NATIONAL TEAM PLAYER

Alfreð Finnbogason

Alfreð Finnbogason

"After having worked with Tomas Tomasson, head coach of the Icelandic Soccer Academy, for more than two years with the Icelandic U21 national team, I can only say positive things about his work and communication with players. What I appreciate most about a coach is when he knows to focus on training and when things can be somewhat relaxed. Tomas has that quality from being a former professional player himself and has the ability to read into situations that a team or a big group of players are dealing with. Being around Tomas makes you feel good as a player. He is funny but very professional at the same time. These are the things that come to mind when I think about Tomas as a coach."

WEST HAM UNITED F.C. WOMEN & ICELANDIC NATIONAL TEAM

Dagný Brynjarsdóttir

Dagný Brynjarsdóttir

"Icelandic training modules helped me achieve my goals of playing as a professional soccer player. The training sessions of the Icelandic soccer academy are competitive but also fun. The coaches want the players to train hard and enjoy themselves at the same time. I believe that a week at the Icelandic soccer academy is beneficial for every young player that wants to improve its game."

Inter Milan & Icelandic National Team

Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir

Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir

Being where I am today requires focus, hard work and faith from many of the great coaches I've been fortunate enough to have. I came into the Icelandic Premier League at the age of 16, immediately got the trust and made an impact for my team Fylkir FC. From that moment on my journey has kept on going and has currently led me to FC Bayern Munich. I have many people to thank for helping me achieve my goals. Coaches Sigurdur and Tomas from the Icelandic Soccer Academy are two of them.

Eyjólfur Sverrisson

“Tomas is a great coach both on and off the pitch.  He has a great personality and gets through to all players of all levels. We have been coaching together for 10 year on the national team level and he has done well every step of the way. He is capable of getting the best out of a player who is 10 years old and also a player who is 19. His great knowledge of the game works for every age group”.

Hólmfríður Magnúsdóttir

Hólmfríður Magnúsdóttir

"The number of educated coaches at a youth level is the secret to Iceland´s success in both women’s and men's soccer. The coaches of the Icelandic soccer academy have earned their badges and worked with both girls and boys in every age group. Knowing the coaches, I can vouch for their experience in helping players from both genders achieve their dreams of playing at a highest level.
