UEFA B-license - Sigurdur started his coaching career at a young age as an assistant coach for his club team Fylkir FC not realizing that this path would continue for many years.

At the early stages his focus was on being an assistant coach but quickly moved on to coaching his own teams. With Fylkir FC he has now coached a wide age range of young men and boys, along with the Premier League women’s team.  Sigurdur has also assisted youth national team coaches especially on the girls side.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE ICELANDIC SOCCER SCHOOL PROGRAM

QATARI CLUB AL- ARABI & CAPTAIN OF ICELANDIC NATIONAL TEAM

Aron Gunnarsson

"Tomas Tomasson had a big impact on us while coaching the Icelandic U-21 national team. He taught us to have a winning attitude that we used when this group got promoted to the A-national team which led us to so much success both in the Euro Cup 2016 and the World Cup 2018. Tomas is honest, straight to the point, and expects everyone to be professional and train to their best abilities. He is a genuinely good coach whom I learned a lot from but most of all, he is a good person."

EVERTON & ICELANDIC NATIONAL TEAM

Gylfi Sigurdsson

"I worked with Tomas Tomasson when I played for the Icelandic U-21 national team, where we had a lot of success. He had a big impact on me and the rest of the team.  He is a very good coach, very demanding, expects you to give 100% every time you train. His training sessions are hard but very enjoyable. I can easily say that Tomas is an amazing person and you can learn a lot from him on and off the pitch."

FC AUGSBURG & ICELANDIC NATIONAL TEAM

Alfred Finnbogason

"After having worked with Tomas Tomasson, head coach of the Icelandic Soccer Academy, for more than two years with the Icelandic U21 national team, I can only say positive things about his work and communication with players. What I appreciate most about a coach is when he knows to focus on training and when things can be somewhat relaxed. Tomas has that quality from being a former professional player himself and has the ability to read into situations that a team or a big group of players are dealing with. Being around Tomas makes you feel good as a player. He is funny but very professional at the same time. These are the things that come to mind when I think about Tomas as a coach."

Hammarby IF & U.S. National Soccer Team

Aron Johannsson

"The mixture of Icelandic and American training modules helped me develop as a player and knowing Tomas Tomasson (the head coach of the Icelandic Soccer Academy) personally I guarantee a week full of good soccer drills and fun this summer."

Former professional player with Hertha Berlin-Stuttgart-Besiktas

Eyjolfur Sverrisson

Former captain and coach of A-national team of Iceland and used to coach the U-21 team with Tomasson.

“Tomas is a great coach both on and off the pitch.  He has a great personality and gets through to all players of all levels. We have been coaching together for 10 year on the national team level and he has done well every step of the way. He is capable of getting the best out of a player who is 10 years old and also a player who is 19. His great knowledge of the game works for every age group”.
