I assume this thread is still ongoing since it was the very first topic listed when I opened the 'forum.' Here are a couple of my suggestions...off the top of my head...the things that I've encountered on multiple occasions as someone who is on the SLYSA website multiple times per week......
**WHY is there no "Contact Us" option listed anywhere on the website?? I realize there's a page with all the board members' home & cell phone numbers, BUT, I've been unable to locate a page with "Contact Us" with an address / phone number /email option. I'm CERTAIN that there USED to be one that I've successfully used in the past, but I'm now unable to locate such a thing.
**Why did the "Current Schedules" icon / link take you to the FALL 2012 schedules, results & standings page throughout he ENTIRE SPRING 2013 SEASON subsequently, requiring one to click on "The Spring 2013 schedules are now listed, click here to view" in the middle of the "HOME" page???
**WHY has the SPRING 2013 page now COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED from the SLYSA website?? Where has it gone & is it coming back????
**We would have REALLY appreciated some sort of announcement & EXPLANATION on the SLYSA website as to the fact that the last "X" number of games of the SPRING 2013 season were completely cancelled, NOT to be r/s a'tall. I'm perplexed & very disappointed as to why SLYSA made that decision & even moreso that apparently, we will be receiving no refund. It's incredibly disturbing that only the youngest teams get to play TEN games & the older teams ONLY PLAY 7 OR 8 GAMES, when they're paying either the same amount of money OR MORE!! It's FURTHER distressing to know that sometimes, even different divisions within the SAME AGE GROUP play MORE games than the other divisions!!!! I'd be VERY grateful to receive some kind of answer on this subject.
**I'd like the website to have a page that actually explains how the amount of team fees are determined. In relation to my comment directly above this one (related to varying number of games) I'd also like to know what exactly, your policy is on the number of referees & linesmen there SHOULD BE at each game in the various age groups & divisions. It's quite perturbing that my son who played U11, First Division in the Spring 2013 season has, for the past FOUR SLYSA SEASONS, had AT THE MOST, ONE referee & maybe ONE linesman. I can count on one hand the number of games that they had TWO linesman & on quite a few occasions, ONLY had the one referee & NO linesmen. I'm sorry, but we feel as if that's JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!! Not for the amount of money each player pays per SLYSA season!!! AND, regardless of lack of game officials, we are refunded NOTHING at the end of each season, regardless of the fact that we've not received the complete service for which we've all paid!!!
**Lastly, I'd like to see something on the website regarding SLYSA & / or MYSA's stance on teams & clubs RECRUITING PLAYERS DURING THE CURRENT SEASON! I'm aware that, although there HAVE been, in past years, there might not be specific rules r/t this practice at this time. If not, we'd appreciate a page covering this topic & explaining your reasons behind your decision. Unfortunately, BOTH my sons' teams have suffered, as both have had players recruited from our teams TO other teams. Ironically, nearly every child I've known to leave mid-season has done so with promises of grandeur, only to be disappointed once they've gone, as nearly NONE of the promises made came to fruition & their child had either minimal A Team playing time OR, have actually been moved DOWN to the B Team shortly after their switch.
In conclusion, I'd like to see your website cover all of the aforementioned items, OR, at the very least, I'd like & appreciate a private email answering them.
